Script Guidelines

Pace
	The basic guideline is this: Don't try to cram an elephant into a shoebox. As a guideline, a maximum of 34-38 words per 15 seconds creates a leisurely, relaxed feel. If your project is a high-impact one, such as a high energy 5-second radio tag, then more verbiage will fit; otherwise, try to say more with less.

Guidelines for Voicemail
	For most offices, a 30 second voicemail is ideal. If you desire a longer message, please be sure your system will accommodate that length.
	As a guideline, a maximum of 68-76 words will allow a leisurely, relaxed feel for a 30-second message. Though we have experience doing high-energy, in-your-face promotional commercials, 80+ words per 30 seconds may begin to sound like a hi-energy used car commercial. You may want a more soothing, relaxed effect.
	Consider limiting your verbiage so that your message is relaxed, soothing, and optimally effective at building trust and bonding the caller to you… especially new patients and/or clients who are considering your products and services.

Guidelines for On-Hold Systems
	Hit the highlights (major areas of expertise, web site, exciting promotions, unique services). Consider what questions your patients, clients, or customers have, and answer them! A 3-minute loop typically includes 6-7 messages of 25-35 words each. Let us know if you need help with scripting - there's NO extra charge!
	6 messages of up to 35 words each will yield an average music-only period between messages of approximately 20 seconds for a 3-minute on hold system. If you prefer shorter gaps and a more "intense" on-hold experience, you may SLIGHTLY increase the length of each message, or include 7 total messages; however, 6 messages of up to 35 words each allows for a calm, balanced, pleasant pace that suits most offices. The choice is yours!
